Mustang Region Trekking

            

Upper Mustang trek Nepal is located across the Himalaya. We can reach there by trekking, by road, and by flight through the deepest Kaligandaki gorge. In spite of being behind Himalaya in its rain shadow area, this region gets a negligible amount of rain. it is divided into two parts that are upper Mustang and lower Mustang. upper Mustang is situated in the northern part of Mustang district and the lower part is at south around Kaligandaki valley. It has cultural as well as geographical diversity. The lower part of Mustang is inhabited by Magar and Thakalis. The northern part is inhabited by Mustangis who are slightly similar with Tibitean. They do have own culture, custom, tradition, language and even the way of living.

Why go Mustang?

Mustang is not only a trekking destination. There are a huge variety of things that Mustang offers to the traveler and explorer. Starting from subtropical and goes to arctic in the Highlands of Mustang. The lower part welcomes you with the cheerful smile of local people as well as you can explore plenty of natural beauty, flora-fauna, diversified climatic zone. Being located in the middle of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri foothill is such a paradise. you can feel the truth upon your arrival there. No one has to become upset when you get there. The upper part of the lower Mustang is Marpha, Jomsom, Muktinath, Kagbeni which is inhabited by local Thakali people famous for trading.
The journey to Mustang will be incomplete without exploring Upper Mustang. Situated in the northern part of Mustang. Many travelers compare this place to heaven. This is such worthy place to visit. The reason that we should visit the upper Mustang are:-

When is the best time to visit
   
From May to December we can visit the upper Mustang. We can’t visit this region in the winter time because there could be an excessive amount of snowfall and extreme cold. Otherwise its perfect to visit the rest of the month. Being at the rain shadow area of Mt Dhaulagiri this place gets no rain so we can even trek in monsoon time.
